I came upon your site while searching for information on Greenmarket's Pie Bake-Off. I was curious about Concord Grapes Pie yet didn't find a recipe first hand so I sort of made it up using the same technique you used (I learned that from making concord grapes jam), full-on concord grapes pie. It was a big hit! That was one of my best-ever pie I've made. ( I make one pie a week) I can't wait to try this apple-grapes combo pie next year!

Congrats on the receiving first-place honors in the "shoppers' choice" vote off...I couldn't have lost to a nicer guy! JM and I whipped up our tarte tatin using the Julia Child recipe from "Mastering the Art of French Cooking," and butter's key to that one, too. Hope we inspired some folks to whip up a pie...or at least to stick a cored apple in the oven with some butter and sugar and to eat it warm...

Yes, it's the sad beauty of farmers markets that there's always some new treat to make you say "why haven't I been eating this all my life?" Glad you liked the pie. I might have to make another one tomorrow so I can try a piece!

I'm a bit saddened to admit this, but I think just a few weeks ago was the first time I actually ate a fresh concord grape. It truly made me sad that Welch's tastes like what it does, because these grapes are just... just so yummy and delicious. This pie looks quite intriguing and delicious! Nice job Dave (and Cathy).
